A China Diary
Mr Michael Dooley is a consultant obstetrician and a fellow of FIH. For the next fortnight, though, he will be taking on a new role as tour guide, leading a group of UK doctors across China to explore how medicine works in the country today.
Modern Chinese practice mainstreams approaches that are often considered 'alternative' in the West - marrying together herbalism, Tai Chi, acupuncture, diet and exercise alongside drugs and surgery. Our tour group will be meeting the Chinese doctors and patients for whom 'integrated health' is just ordinary medicine.
Mr Dooley will be blogging, and possibly even snapping, for us daily. Follow him here from November 21, as he travels thousands of miles through vast cities and stunning scenery in search of best medical practice.
